WESTON JOSIAH SMITH TAVERN AND OLD LIBRARY ADAPTIVE REUSE "Weston Town Center on the Commons" Urbanica’s proposal for the Josiah Smith Tavern and the Weston Old Library builds upon the original vision for the town’s planning, while addressing present and future needs. Envisioned as a “Town Center on the Commons,” the project will provide a welcome setting for art and cultural events for residents. The proposal was a response to the RFP by the Town of Weston and Urbanica was designated as the preferred developer for the site. Urbanica proposes an attractive town center with a beautiful landscaped entry courtyard to the cluster of historically-significant buildings. The project will create three well-appointed condominiums at the Weston Old Library, a bed & breakfast at the Josiah Smith Tavern, a small cafe/restaurant in the Barn alongside a revitalized civic connector that houses two important town institutions - the Weston Historical Society and the Women's Community League of Weston.
